Remember the days when Delaware Bay was full of big trout? Yeah, I know they are very scarce today, but a few real nice trout can still be caught in specific locations at certain times of the year by those who know what they’re doing.
Tiderunners Bait & Tackle will present a St. Croix rod and reel (approx value of $200) to the first person who brings in a legally caught seatrout weighing at least seven pounds. Fish must be caught from a head boat or charter boat leaving from Fisherman's Wharf in Lewes DE.
Fish must be weighed on the scale in Tiderunners Bait and Tackle and we may question your where and how to determine legitimacy of the catch (don’t try to tell me you caught it at B Buoy on a spot rig using sand fleas…..) and I don’t really care where you caught it (doesn't have to be from a headboat or charter boat), but don’t even think of bringing me one with gill net scars……
A list of the current largest fish of most local species is posted right outside our shop. If you beat the current weight of any species, you will receive a Tiderunners fishing cap and free vacuuum sealing of your winning fish. All fish must be caught from a headboat sailing from Fisherman’s Wharf and must be weighed at Tiderunners Bait & Tackle.
If you have a group of at least ten people and are interested in a head boat trip at Fisherman’s Wharf, give us a call. When given at least a day’s notice, we will create a contest format and list of rules for your fishermen. A prize package for the winners can be assembled by Tiderunner's Bait & Tackle at store cost.
